For the first time ever, astronauts aboard China’s Tiangong Space Station have used a hot-air oven to cook and bake food in orbit — a breakthrough that transforms the “space kitchen.” The Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 crew members baked chicken wings and steak using a smoke-free, zero-gravity oven designed by the China Astronaut Research and Training Center. The oven reaches 190°C, allowing real cooking with browning and crisping — not just reheating.
