As demand for electricity to power AI data centers surges, the tech industry is turning to nuclear power plants, according to the Wall Street Journal. Talks are ongoing with the owners of about a third of U.S. nuclear plants. Amazon Web Services is close to a deal with Constellation Energy for direct power supply and recently acquired a nuclear-powered data center campus in Pennsylvania. Vistra and Public Service Enterprise are also in discussions for 'behind-the-meter' deals to secure direct electricity from plants.
