6 Dead, 31 Missing in Cebu Landfill Collapse ⚠️

Philippines authorities said 110 workers were on site when a landfill collapsed in Cebu, damaging several structures and burying multiple personnel. The Bureau of Fire Protection on Sunday confirmed six deaths, with 31 people still unaccounted for.

Jaylord Antigua, a landfill worker, recounted his survival after the garbage avalanche at the Binaliw landfill in Cebu nearly buried him alive during its collapse on Thursday.

Antigua's two cousins remain trapped under the garbage and he is anxiously awaiting updates. "I can't believe that garbage has killed them," he said.

Meanwhile, Bienvinido Ranido, whose wife Rowena was among the fatalities of the deadly landfill collapse, wiped away tears as his family held her funeral and relatives grieved her passing.
