About this video

5 Reasons Why Your Urine Smells Like Fish | Explained by Urologist, Dr. Robert Chan, M.D.

In this video, I share possible reasons why your urine smells like fish. Urine usually smells like ammonia because of the waste products in it. Sometimes with infections or certain things you eat or metabolic disorders, urine can smell strange.

Asparagus is a common culprit for urine to smell off. I bet you didn't know that vitamin D and B6 supplements can also cause your urine to smell.

I go over some of the symptoms that you might experience with urinary tract infections or vaginal infections. Bacterial vaginosis is a common overgrowth of normal bacteria that can also cause fishy smelling urine.

Stay tuned for future episodes when I will explain the following:

Urine smells like ammonia. Urine smells like sulfur. Urine smells like garlic / onions.
