4 Ways to Enter Spain as a TOURIST and Get RESIDENCY ✅

About this video

Discover how to enter Spain as a tourist and obtain residency easily! In this video, we explain your 4 options to get a residence permit through your tourist visa:

📌 OPTION 1: Work Permit as a Highly Qualified Professional

You can enter Spain with your tourist visa, receive a job offer from a multinational company or a tech-sector employer paying more than €40,000 per year, and obtain your work permit this way.

Keep in mind that the position must be managerial or highly technical. You also need to have completed a university degree or a master’s program, and have at least 3 years of experience in the field.

The resolution is very quick (20 days), as this visa falls under the Entrepreneur’s Law.

📌 OPTION 2: Student Visa

It’s currently possible to obtain a student visa directly from within Spain.

To do this, you must apply before the end of the second month of your 3-month tourist visa period, providing private health insurance and sufficient financial means.

Note that not all educational institutions qualify: you must have confirmed enrollment in a university to study a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or in a higher education institution offering professional-level training in sports or the arts.

📌 OPTION 3: EU Family Member

If you have direct relatives such as parents, children, or a partner who are EU citizens and living and working in Spain, you can apply for a residence permit as a family member of an EU citizen. This allows you to live and work in Spain for 5 years, and you can apply while on a tourist visa.

If applying through a partner and your union is not yet formalized, we recommend registering as a domestic partnership (“pareja de hecho”) upon arrival in Spain, and then applying for the visa. The entire process can be completed without returning to your country of origin.

📌 OPTION 4: Arraigo (Social Rooting)

If none of the previous three options apply to you, you can remain in Spain irregularly for 2 years, and if you secure a job offer, you can regularize your situation through the arraigo social process.

Key requirements include having integrated into Spanish society and culture, proving uninterrupted residence in Spain for 3 years, and having an employer willing to begin the process.
