The horse with arguably the biggest profile leading into the Melbourne Cup is Scandinavia the Aidan O'Brien trained 3 year old. He shapes very similarly to last year's early favourite Jan Brueghel that was banned from running in the Melbourne Cup by Racing Victoria's woke veterinary protocols. Will Scandinavia suffer the same fate?

Outside the top 50 horses Golden Snap, Militarize, Revelare and Hipop de Loire have a big challenge to make their way into the 24 horse field come the First Tuesday in November.
