2018 Christmas Collection - The Great God of Heaven/A Virgin Unspotted - Dominion Reed Organ

This is a traditional English Carol, with the tune composed by Henry Ramsden Bramley (1833-1917). Bramley was an important part of a Victorian revival of Christmas carols with his and Sir John Stainer's 1871 publication of Christmas Carols, New and Old, which popularized carols such as "The First Nowell", "God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen" and "The Holly and the Ivy".

The music that I am playing is from the English Hymnal (1933), hymn number 29.

Played on a Dominion reed organ (pump organ), made in Bowmanville, Ontario Canada in the early 1900s.
