About this video
Hi there, my name is Abrar and I am a computer science graduate. My majors include cryptography, networks and cyber security. I have complete grasp on cryptographic concepts for which I have made this channel in order promote cyber education. My tutorials will cover both theory and the implementation as well. Today’s topic is Caesar Cipher.
Caesar Cipher is a substitution cipher in which the plain text letters are shifted according to a predefined key. The Caesar cipher is one of the earliest known and simplest ciphers. It is a type of substitution cipher in which each letter in the plain text is 'shifted' a certain number of places down the alphabet. For example, with a shift of 1, A would be replaced by B, B would become C, and so on. The method is named after Julius Caesar, who apparently used it to communicate with his generals.
Usage in today's world:
Crypt-analysis of Caesar Cipher suggests that it should not be used in any way if the data you want to hide is confidential. However nothing is useless if it does exists :P we can use this cipher to let our friends guess what we want to say to them in a funny manner or use it in a scavenger hunt. The world is open for creativity and it is totally up-to you how you use it to create new and awesome things.
