Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the KL20 action plan was introduced to transform Kuala Lumpur into one of the world’s top 20 startup ecosystems.

When tabling the 13th Malaysian Plan (RMK13) in Parliament on Thursday (July 31), he said since its launch in April 2024, Kuala Lumpur’s position in the 2025 Global Startup Ecosystem Report has risen to 68th place, with 4,464 registered startups.
