In the second session, Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up his fifth Test century and first on English soil. Shubman Gill slammed his first half-century as Indian Test captain as the visitors reached 215/2 at tea. After the tea break, England captain Ben Stokes removed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 101 runs with a sensational delivery and broke the 129-run stand. Rishabh Pant (65*) and Shubman Gill (127*) attacked England bowlers as Team India finished their day on a high note at 359-3 on stumps on Day 1.
