About this video
Pembrokeshire County Council has stated that it is entering the next stage of the Brynhir Housing Development for Tenby.
It is now expected that only 102 council houses will be built within the development of 135 in total.
“We have now reached the stage of inviting tender from contractors to begin the construction phase,” said a spokesperson for PCC’s housing services.
“Those on the applicable framework have all been contacted directly.
“Once the contract has been awarded, planning works will be carried out in preparation for initial groundworks to start on site in early 2025.”
The Brynhir Development is expected to be completed in 2027 with the option of a phased handover of properties being considered.
County Councillor for Tenby’s North ward, Cllr Michael Williams recently stated on the scheme: “The new timescale does show a later commencement that initially hoped for, but I stressed the importance of getting it right, as this is an iconic site, and when you understand what has been lost from the landscape, it deserves special care and consideration.”
