The Invalidity Scheme by the Social Security Organisation (Socso) for protection outside of work will also be extended to foreign workers, says Steven Sim.
The Human Resources Minister told reporters after co-chairing the joint meeting between both ministries on Migrant Workers Management on Monday (May 20) that the decision to expand the scheme for migrant workers will allow Socso to save about RM25.38mil annually in expenses to repatriate bodies of foreign workers back to their home countries.
