China Didn’t Warn Public of Likely
Pandemic for 6 Key Days According to 'AP News,' top Chinese officials
determined they were likely facing a pandemic
from a new coronavirus on Jan. 14. Over the course of the next six days,
millions of people began traveling across the
country for the celebration of Chinese New Year. The city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the disease,
hosted a mass banquet for tens of thousands of people. On Jan. 20, President Xi Jinping warned the
Chinese public about the outbreak, at which
time approximately 3,000 people became infected. Officials tried to walk the line between
warning the public and avoiding hysteria. The Chinese Government has
repeatedly denied suppressing
