Stalingrad, 1942. Among the twisted ruins of a shattered city, death approached not with the roar of artillery, but in silence. Hidden among debris, behind broken walls, or camouflaged in rubble, Soviet and German snipers fought a brutal war of their own. One shot, one kill.

In this video, using the latest technology, unique wartime aerial imagery and rare eyewitness testimony from both sides of the wire, we’ll for the very first time, locate, identify and re-tell the true story of the most famous sniper duel in history, between Vasiliy Zaitsev and the enigmatic Major Erwin König.
