Ronald Binge (1910-1979) The Watermill

It wasn't until Ronald Binge's The Watermill was used as the theme to the BBC Children's television series "The Secret Garden" in the early 197o's that it became popular. Since then there have been numerous recordings. The version played here is believed to be the original recording. The only information is that Charles Gerhardt is named on the record label, whether that is as musical publisher or conductor is open to debate. References to the actulal orchestra has long been lost through the passage of time.
