MLS Reimagined 2025-26: San Jose Earthquakes vs Sporting Kansas City ⚽

What if Major League Soccer had promotion and relegation? MLS REIMAGINED is what it would like if the 30-team MLS split into two tiers - an 18-team Premier Division and a 12-team Championship Division For the purposes of a reimagined 2025-26 MLS campaign (which also mirrors the Aug-May season cycle similar to Europe), the 18 teams that qualified for the 2024 postseason make up the Premier Division Atlanta United FC, CF Montreal, Charlotte FC, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, FC Cincinnati, Houston Dynamo, Inter Miami CF, LAFC, LA Galaxy, Minnesota United, NYCFC, New York Red Bulls, Orlando City SC, Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps. The 11-teams that not qualify for the 2024 MLS Playoffs and 2025 expansion club San Diego FC make up the second tier Championship Division Austin FC, Chicago Fire, DC United, FC Dallas, Nashville SC, New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union, San Diego FC, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City, St. Louis City and Toronto FC Each division will play a 34-game regular season. Each year, three clubs from the Premier Division will get relegated and three clubs from the Championship Division will get promoted. The top two clubs in the Championship Division will automatically get promoted, while clubs in the 3rd through 6th places will participate in a promotion playoff. In midseason, all clubs will play in the MLS Cup Tournament. All games will be played on EA FC26 for the Playstation 5.
